Here at Foxes, we're dedicated to getting you the best instruments at the very best prices (just check around) and with the best rental program around, you'll save money even if you're not yet ready to buy. We also have a nice selection of carefully selected professional instruments for teachers and orchestra players.

All of our new models are at least 30% off! We're able to offer these discounts with the large volume of instruments that we buy, but we also maintain the intimate environment akin to that of a smaller string shop. Plus, if you're a Foxes renter, you can use your rental credit* to get extra discounts on any of our fine instrument selection. Our instruments are hand selected by knowledgable staff and professionally set up and adjusted by our luthier so they're ready to play right away. All new instruments come with a lifetime warranty!

Take out up to two violins and four bows for a 7 day trial with no deposit required (we take a credit card number and picture ID). It gives you time to contemplate a purchase without pressure and will allow you to show your teacher the instruments.

Thinking of investing in a smaller sized violin? We have the most generous trade-in policy anywhere. Have an instrument that you didn't buy here? We'll take those on trade also. Just make an appointment to have it assessed.

Renting Stringed Instruments

*STANDARD RENTALS* Economy Level 1 rentals are between $10 and $16 per month and are durable instruments designed to survive the rigors of school programs. Models include Glaesel, Scherl & Roth R300, and William Lewis. *Available in the following sizes: 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4.* Advanced Level 1 rental violins are fully hand carved solid wood instruments and are typically between $17 and $18 per month. They provide a better sound, but are slightly more fragile. Models include Samuel Eastman, Mathias Thoma, Scherl & Roth R200, Artisan 100, and Gafiano 100/200. Available in the following sizes: 1/32, 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, and 4/4 *ADVANCED RENTALS* (Please make an appointment with a specialist) Level 2 rental violins are $25 for 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, and 4/4 sizes. This outfit includes: a Gafiano 307 violin, a better brazilwood bow & dart case. Level 3 rental violins are $45 per month and are available from 1/8 - 3/4 sizes. Made by Jurgen Klier in Germany with an oblong case and pernambuco bow. Build *rental credit* towards the purchase including 100% of the first year! When purchasing an instrument you are currently* renting, we will apply 100% of a year's rent and 50% of all rent accrued thereafter, plus an additional 25% discount will be applied to the final balance. When buying an upgrade, the same amount of rental credit may be applied to up to 65% of the sale price (usually a 30% discount) of any instrument level 2 or higher. Maximum discounts may apply to certain instrument upgrades. **100% Traide on any instrument in good condition. Repair fees may be assessed for instruments in poorer condition. We also take a small restocking fee to cover the cost of cleaning, set-up, and string replacement.
